Höffe I 348 Ethics/Utilitarianism/Mill/HöffeVsMill/Höffe: Since Mill rejects any kind of a priori statements, he cannot allow them for ethics. An inexperienced justification of moral obligations remains impossible for him. The alternative, a consistent empiricism, joins - in contrast to any "a priori" or "intuitionist school" - an "inductive school" of ethics.
